Awarded in Maniatic

The work of El Ranchito in the short film The Following Year, by Miguel Campaña, has been recognized with the Best FX Award at the VI edition of the International Fantastic Film Festival Maniatic, held in Valencia. This is the second award won by El Ranchito thanks to The Following Year, which also won the trophy for Best Special Effects at the last edition of the Alcalá de Henares Alcine Film Festival. The short film, produced by Canada, counted with the participation of a team of eighteen people from El Ranchito, headed by our VFX Supervisor Ezequiel Larrú. The Following Year tells the story of a widowed farmer who receives a clone of a woman he lost years ago in tragic circumstances and to whom he never had the chance to say goodbye. However, as the clone learns more about their past together, he soon finds clues that make him doubt the farmer's story.
